Privacy Policy — Your Data Stays in Your Browser
Short version — plain English
- What you type into a calculator never leaves your browser
- We use Google Analytics to count visitors — without your input values
- We use Google Blogger for hosting — standard Google cookies apply
- We don't sell data. We don't have any to sell.
1. What we never collect
The following data never leaves your device under any circumstances:
2. What is collected automatically
Our hosting provider (Google Blogger) and analytics tool (Google Analytics 4) collect standard usage data:
- IP address (anonymised by Google Analytics)
- Browser type, version, and operating system
- Pages visited and approximate time spent
- Referring URL (which site linked you here)
This data is used only to understand aggregate traffic patterns and fix usability problems. It is never sold.
3. Google Analytics
We use GA4 to track general events: page views, whether a calculator was completed, and whether the result was copied. We do not pass calculator input values as event parameters. If our privacy policy says your data stays in the browser, we enforce that in the analytics code too — not just the disclaimer.
You can opt out using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
4. Cookies
Google Analytics sets session cookies. Google Blogger may set functional cookies. Reckonly itself does not set advertising or tracking cookies.
5. Shareable links
The Mortgage and Loan calculators support shareable links by encoding your inputs in the URL (e.g. ?p=300000&r=6.5). These values appear in your browser history. This feature is disabled for the Income Tax and Age calculators where inputs are more personal.
6. Local storage
We may use localStorage to remember UI preferences such as your chosen currency symbol. No financial inputs or personal data are stored this way.
7. Third-party services
This list will be updated whenever a new service is added.
8. Changes to this policy
Material changes will be noted in the Changelog with the date and a plain-English summary of what changed.
9. Questions
Privacy questions: contact page.
